What is transmission temperature function?

Viscosity deteriorates as the temperature of transmission oil increases. As a result, power transfer sections in the transmission such as the clutch, etc. may not work properly. It may vary depending on the vehicle types and seasons, but as the temperature often increase over 110℃ in general, installing a transmission oil cooler may be one way. Oil temperature is likely to be low in winter,
which deteriorates fluidity. Thus, it is recommnded to warm up the system for three to
five minutes after engine ignition.
Basically, the transmission is automatically controlled by means of the programmed mode in the case of Chevrolet vehicles(Malibu, Tosca, Orlando, etc.)and depending on
various driving conditions on the road in the case of TCM.

*Cold Trans Gear Override-When auto transmission oil is at -18℃ or lower, it enters the cold drive mode. This mode remains until it reaches a certain level of temperature(-7℃ or higher). Hence, in a cold drive mode, 6th gear auto transmission and 1st gear engine brake operation are restricted.
*Hot Mode - When auto transmission oil of either a gasoline engine or a diesel engine
exceeds 132℃, TCM enters 'Hot Mode' and connects the transmission timing and
TCC to prevent the heat from increasing the temperature further.

Engine oil life-span : The remaining effective period of engine oil. It is recommended to
exchange oil at every 5000 to 10000 kilometers or at every 6 months. When DAG engine
oil passes the point of 60% of the life span, it is better to exchange the engine oil.

Diesel mode.
